Known in the tire industry for its reliable performance, General Tire is a brand which needs no introduction. I cant speak for long term or offroad yet, but I will post back in June after my trip.If you are a racer or commute by car within a city, General Tire has a wide range of products which are custom made for different terrains, lifestyles and weather conditions. Obviously my experience is limited as of right now, but these feel like they are round!! I partially thought the rough ride of the KM2s may have been from the D range, but these are a night and day difference on the road. I had them installed today and Im really happy with them. The X3s were in stock through Discount Tire Direct, so I ordered them and got them pretty promptly. I was worried about the lack of info on them, so I tried to purchase some 37" Trail Grapplers. The tread pattern look like it would perform well (based on my own assumptions), and I liked the red letters since my Recon has alot of red accents. The X3s caught my eye for a number of reasons. The way supply chains are right now I figured I better order soon or possibly not have them in time for my trip. I have a trip back to the SLSD next month and decided I wan't fresh tires. After driving, I could see how every other center lug didn't even contact the road (half had road dust, the other half didn't). When I drove them, I could feel every row of lugs. They were a little dry rotted, and I don't think they were ever rotated. I had those mounted and installed on my JKUR, but wasn't sure how I felt with the tires. I initially found some "used" KMC Addicts wheels that were BNIB and some 37x12.50r17 BFG KM2s that had decent tread depth. I went to Badlands Offroad park in IN last year and would like to start checking out other places on some long weekends. My offroading is mostly mild local trails (even those are slim pickings), or trips to Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Living in SE WI we dont have a ton of hardcore trails. I was extremely happy with their road manners (my jeep is not my DD) and their performance offroad. I was on 35x11.50r17 C-Range Nitto Trail Grapplers. I was on 35s and got the itch to go up a size. I couldn't find much info on them when I was looking, so I took a chance. I thought Id post my initial impression to these tires and check back when Ive logged more miles on and offroad on them.
